Ghostery vs privacy badger10/27/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() Currently, the things Privacy Badger looks for are third-party cookies, HTML5 local storage “supercookies” and canvas fingerprinting. Privacy Badger is programmed to look for tracking heuristics -specific actions that indicate someone is trying to identify and track you. How does Privacy Badger learn?įrom the beginning, Privacy Badger has recognized trackers by their sneaky, privacy-invading behavior. ![]() This means, moving forward, all Privacy Badgers will default to relying on the same learned list of trackers for blocking. Furthermore, Privacy Badger’s tracker database will be refreshed periodically with the latest pre-trained definitions. But as a precaution, we have decided to turn off Privacy Badger’s local learning feature by default.įrom now on, Privacy Badger will rely solely on its “Badger Sett” pre-trained list of tracking domains to perform blocking by default. To be clear: the disclosures Google’s team shared with us are purely proof-of-concept, and we have seen no evidence that any Privacy Badger users have had these techniques used against them in the wild. This is similar to the set of vulnerabilities that Safari’s Intelligent Tracking Prevention feature disclosed and patched late last year. In theory, this can be used to identify users (a form of fingerprinting ) or to extract some kinds of information from the pages they visit. Essentially, since Privacy Badger adapts its behavior based on the way that sites you visit behave, a dedicated attacker could manipulate the way Privacy Badger acts: what it blocks and what it allows. The team also alerted us to a class of attacks that were enabled by Privacy Badger’s learning. The first was a serious security issue we removed the relevant feature immediately. Google Security Team reached out to us in February with a set of security disclosures related to Privacy Badger’s local learning function. Regardless, all users will continue to benefit from Privacy Badger’s up-to-date knowledge of trackers in the wild, as well as its other privacy-preserving features like outgoing link protection and widget replacement. If you wish, you can still choose to opt in to local learning and have the exact same Badger experience as before. Now, we are turning “local learning” off by default, as it may make you more identifiable to websites or other actors. Privacy Badger used to learn about trackers as you browsed the Web. Thanks to disclosures from Google Security Team, we are changing the way Privacy Badger works by default in order to protect you better. While our goals remain the same, our approach is changing. While the latter group do end up blocking many ads, they are considered privacy tools because ads that don’t track you are allowed through.Privacy Badger was created to protect users from pervasive non-consensual tracking, and to do so automatically, without relying on human-edited lists of known trackers. There is an important line between ad blockers and Privacy Badger, Ghostery, or Firefox’s Tracking Protection feature. Further, users have control over how Privacy Badger treats these domains, with options to block a domain entirely, block just cookies, or allow a domain. Privacy Badger always tells how many third-party domains it has detected and whether or not they seem to be trackers. If the same third-party domain appears to be tracking you on three or more different websites, Privacy Badger will conclude that the third party domain is a tracker and block future connections to it. by setting cookies that could be used for tracking, or by fingerprinting your browser). Privacy Badger spots and then blocks third-party domains that seem to be tracking your browsing habits (e.g. Third-party tracking - that is, when advertisers and websites track your browsing activity across the web without your knowledge, control, or consent - is an alarmingly widespread practice in online advertising. The EFF explains how Privacy Badger handles this security and privacy issue: Not blocking these scripts means they can follow you around the web and spy on your browsing habits. ![]()

Pdf search mac10/27/2023 ![]() ![]() Adding an Image to a PDF File in Preview – Revealed As a backup, you can make a copy of the image you want to add to the PDF file and work with it. If adding an image to a PDF file is important to you, and you can only count on Preview, follow the steps above and take your time. Inexperienced users unfamiliar with Mac keyboard shortcuts may feel lost at some point in the process. Ideally, Preview would have “Add Image” functionality to let you complete the task in a second.Īnother downside of this method is the complexity of the work you have to do with your keyboard. This is the main limitation of this method. Adding images to every page in a large PDF document, on the other hand, would take significantly longer. However, if you only need to insert a single image in Preview, the method won’t take longer than five minutes. If you simply go over these steps in your head, you’ll realize that they’re quite time-consuming. You have just read the steps needed to insert an image into a PDF document using Preview on a Mac. ![]() Limitations of Adding an Image to a PDF in Preview You don’t need to save your work, given that the software will do so automatically. Can you kill the purple guys in oddmar10/27/2023 ![]() ![]() This third entry in the Fowlst series is the best yet – although you have to feel for a solitary chicken that’s taken on the responsibility of saving the world from an endless demon incursion. You can also spend 89p/$0.99 on 5,000 crystals to speed along upgrades if you wish. £2.49/$2.99 removes the ads, but the £4.49/$4.99 premium tier is better, because it adds offline play and gives you other goodies. IAPs: Tap the trunk button for payment options. Customisable controls, gamepad support, upgrade paths, a unique sense of character and a big game world make this an unmissable freebie you won’t lick in a hurry. On iPad, the game looks gorgeous and there’s less chance of your thumbs covering up something important when you’re leaping about. Amass enough of those and you unlock more of the expansive map. Keener on blazing around? Dispatch every enemy before a timer runs down and you get a combo. If you want to explore, you can take things easy. That’s the starting point for a side-on platform game that is equal parts Metroid, Super Meat Boy and strange slobbering beastie, making for a compelling concoction that’s among the best games of its kind on mobile. Perhaps this prophecy might have something in it after all. Mombo also likes to get stompy, squishing monsters by jumping on their heads. It can stick to walls and help Mombo zoom along zip lines. Still, you work with what you have, right? And it turns out that tongue is useful. What’s perhaps most surprising, though, is that even if you haveĬivilization VI on your iPad, Polytopia might win your heart, through its mix of immediacy, fun and charm. The ability to build configurable maps affords flexibility and furthers long-term interest. Maps can optionally be much larger, making for a more epic feel and demanding lengthier sit-down games. With version 2, Polytopia now makes more sense for iPad as well. But new and unique tribes with their own tech and distinct units shook things up further and the game’s relatively intuitive nature made it a good fit for iPhone. And the speedrun mode forced very different tactics from Civilization. It always looked different, with its low-poly visuals. ![]() However, Polytopia soon gained its own personality. The winner is the tribe with the highest score after 30 turns – or who unsportingly kills everyone else. By making good use of resources, you can research new technologies, thereby unlocking more powerful units. You get an isometric world and attempt to dominate in a turn-based manner. ![]() Initially, The Battle of Polytopia (originally Super Tribes) was akin to a stripped-back early entry in the classic Civilization series. You can also pay to unlock sections of the game if you’ve not yet found all the collectables required to proceed. IAPs: The £4.99/$4.99 premium option removes ads that occasionally appear. Combine that with a slew of secrets, plenty of variety (underwater sections a level set on a speeding train), and you’ve one of the finest mobile platforms you’re ever likely to see. But Super Cat Tales 2 revels in its perceived limitations, offering levels that require clever choreography to crack. The system is tricky to grasp at first, and you might initially hanker for a jump button. Two thumbs are also all you need to clamber up vertical surfaces, wall jump, and obliterate enemies using giant yellow tanks they’ve carelessly left lying about the place. Double-tap to start running, and automatically leap on reaching a platform’s edge. ![]() Hold the left or right side of the screen to head in that direction. Super Cat Tales 2 sidesteps all this by streamlining the entire control system to two buttons.Īs you belt through the game’s vibrant world, you grip your iPad with two hands. Given the difference in size between an iPad mini and the largest iPad Pro, on-screen controls only tend to work on all iPads if they’re fully configurable (rare) or you have banana fingers (hopefully more rare). Platform games on the iPad are something of a mixed bag, mostly because they tend to be so difficult to control. ![]()

Ag source lawrence ks10/27/2023 ![]() ![]() It should be emphasized that, in addition to the majority AFM-ordered spins (compensated spins), the AFM layer in an AFM/FM bilayer system sometimes could contain a small number of FM-ordered spins (uncompensated spins) induced by the FM layer. Although the FM Fe discs exhibit the expected FM vortices for both circular and square discs, the AFM domain imaging of the NiO and CoO discs reveals unambiguously the existence of the AFM vortex state in the NiO and CoO discs ( Fig. 2). The underlying mechanism of this coupling transition remains unclear so far and has been a focus of research in this field.Įlement-specific magnetic domains were imaged for both the FM Fe and the AFM NiO (CoO) of the bilayer discs at low temperature using photoemission electron-beam microscopy (PEEM). This collinear to 90° coupling transition was also reported in the NiO/Fe(001) system as a function of NiO thickness 19. As the 元 ratio under this condition should reach its maximum value for X-ray polarization parallel to the CoO spin axis 16, 17, 18, the R 元 result in Fig. 1b shows that the CoO spins are coupled collinearly to the Fe spins at smaller CoO thickness ( d CoO=0.6 nm) and perpendicularly to the Fe spins at larger CoO thickness ( d CoO=3.0 nm). The 元 ratio follows the expected cos 2 dependence for all CoO thicknesses. Figure 1 represents a typical CoO XMLD result from CoO (3 nm)/Fe (12 nm)/Ag(001) with the XMLD signal defined by the so-called 元 ratio ( R 元),which is the X-ray absorption intensity at the photon energy E=778.1 eV divided by the absorption intensity at E=778.9 eV (ref. Although the XMCD measurement is a standard method, the XMLD measurement on NiO and CoO in our experiment was made at the Ni L2 edge and Co 元 edge by changing the X-ray linear polarization angle ( ) relative to the Fe magnetization axis, which is parallel to the NiO or CoO crystalline axis ( Fig. 1a ref. ![]() The FM Fe and AFM NiO and CoO were measured at the Advanced Light Source of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory by X-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD) and X-ray magnetic linear dichroism (XMLD). Single-crystalline NiO/Fe(12 nm)/Ag(001) and CoO/Fe(12 nm)/Ag(001) films were grown by molecular beam epitaxy and patterned into discs using a focused ion beam. We also show that a frozen AFM vortex can bias an FM vortex at low temperature. We have fabricated single-crystalline NiO/Fe/Ag(001) and CoO/Fe/Ag(001) discs, and using X-ray magnetic linear dichroism techniques we observe two types of AFM vortex, one of which has no analogue in FM structures. Here we report the direct observation of an AFM vortex state in the AFM layer of an AFM/FM bilayer system. In antiferromagnetic (AFM) discs 10, in contrast, there has been only indirect evidence for a vortex state, obtained through the observation of induced FM-ordered spins in the AFM disc 11, 12, 13, 14. In ferromagnetic (FM) discs, these two parameters have been shown to govern many fundamental properties of the vortex, such as its gyroscopic rotation 4, polarity reversal 5, 6, 7, core motion 8 and vortex-pair excitation 9. In a thin-film disc, vortex states are characterized by the vortex polarity and the winding number 2, 3. In magnetic thin films, a magnetic vortex is a state in which the magnetization vector curls around the centre of a confined structure 1. ![]()

Barbie playsets 201910/27/2023 ![]() The Barbie Role Model collection includes dolls made in the likeness of space scientist Maggie Aderin-Pocock and presenter Clara Amfo. “Many collectors have huge nostalgia for this time,” says Simon.īarbie has come a long way in the past six decades and now comes in a variety of skin tones, hair colours and body types. This was when, in the UK, Barbie overtook Sindy as the best-selling doll. Next came the popular “Pink Box Era” (when Barbie came packaged in a hot pink box), during the Eighties and Nineties. Barbie’s British cousin, Francie, was soon introduced, alongside a Twiggy doll (inspired by the eponymous model.) ![]() “She entered her ‘Mod Era’ with a new face, ‘twist ‘n’ turn’ waist and Sixties wardrobe,” says collectible toy retailer Simon Farnworth, who runs the online shop .uk. ![]() Formally known as Barbara Millicent Roberts (after Handler’s daughter), she was an instant hit.Ī decade later, in the late Sixties, Barbie was given a makeover. Barbie, meanwhile, was aimed at girls, offering a more aspirational alternative to the baby dolls of the day. Ruth Handler, the doll’s inventor, was inspired by a Bild Lilli doll – a blonde bombshell based on a German cartoon, marketed as a novelty gift for men. So, how did a childrens’ toy catapult to global stardom? And why is she so pricey? We chart the rise of this small but mighty model and ask the experts what the old dolls sitting in our attics might be worth today… A history of Barbieīarbie first burst onto the scene in 1959, created by Californian toy company Mattel. Having held positions as an astronaut, pilot and even President, she’s now set to be a movie star, with the new Barbie film, directed by Greta Gerwig, hitting cinemas on 21 July.īarbie is also a woman who knows her worth, with some vintage and specialist dolls fetching tens of thousands of pounds at auction. That being said, you can still join the conversation and celebrate with Barbie on social media using the hashtags #Barbie60 and #YouCanBeAnything. She may be 11 inches tall and made entirely of plastic, but Barbie is a global icon. As much as we wish we could own all 20 of these dolls, they're unfortunately not available for purchase. ![]() Yara Shahidi shared the news of her inclusion on this list of role models via Instagram, writing in her caption that she was "honored to be repping all the young ones as a Barbie Role Model." She added: "Let's continue to inspire the next generation and each other. Through our global platform, we are igniting a movement to help close the Dream Gap and further establish Barbie as the ultimate girl empowerment brand." "The Barbie brand believes girls should never know a world, job, or dream women haven't conquered. ![]() With more than 200 careers, six runs for president, and a trip to the moon before Neil Armstrong, Barbie continues to evolve to be a modern, relevant role model for all ages," Lisa McKnight, Barbie's General Manager and Senior Vice President, said in a press release. "For 60 years, Barbie has championed girls, inspired generations to believe through make believe, and showed them that they have choices. In addition to that, Barbie will also "close the Dream Gap" by donating money to organizations aimed at "leveling the playing field for girls." The collection will honor 20 women from 18 countries by modeling dolls after all of them. Included on that line-up are celebrities like Yara Shahidi, Naomi Osaka, Kelsea Ballerini, and Adwoa Aboah. To celebrate both International Women's Day on March 8 and the six decades that it's spent inspiring women of all ages, Barbie has created a line of dolls that honor a group of extraordinary women that have been deemed by the brand as role models. Barbie has some exciting things in store for its 60th anniversary this year. ![]()

![]() ![]() With the ability to search for strings in all files within a directory, regardless of their location or type, recursive search is a valuable tool for streamlining your workflow and maximizing your productivity in the Linux command line. Whether you’re using the grep or find command, this technique allows you to search through large and complex file structures with ease, making it an ideal solution for complex search tasks. In conclusion, recursive search is a powerful technique for searching for strings in Linux command line. The ‘-exec’ option allows you to execute a command on each file found by find, in this case the ‘grep’ command. Note that the ‘.’ at the beginning of the command tells find to start the search in the current directory, while the ‘-type f’ option restricts the search to files only. You can also use the find command to perform a recursive search for strings by using the ‘ -exec’ option in conjunction with the ‘grep’ command.įor example, to search for the string “example” in all files within the current directory and its subdirectories, you would use the following command: find. Suppose I want to count the number of times foo occurs in these files, how would I do that I'be been trying things like: grep -r 'foo'. java I am able to find the names of all of the java files in a particular directory. The find command allows you to search for files based on various criteria, including file name, type, and modification date. I'm new to linux and grep, and trying to find my way around. Recursive String Search With find CommandĪnother useful tool for recursive search is the find command. You can replace this with the path of any other directory you wish to search. Note that the ‘.’ at the end of the command tells grep to start the search in the current directory. Specifically tree -ifpugDs PWD should give you what you would like. To perform a recursive search with grep, you can use the ‘-r’ option, which tells grep to search for strings in all files and subdirectories within a directory.įor example, to search for the string “example” in all files within the current directory and its subdirectories, you would use the following command: grep -r "example". 5 Answers Sorted by: 10 Rather than ls or find you may try tree. The grep command is a versatile tool that allows you to search for strings in files and directories, and it can be used in conjunction with other commands to perform more complex searches. Recursive String Search With grep Command There are several ways to perform a recursive search in the Linux command line, and one of the most popular is the use of the ‘grep’ command. With recursive search, you can search for strings in all files within a directory, regardless of their location or type, making it an ideal solution for complex search tasks. This technique can be particularly useful when you need to search through large and complex file structures, where a simple search may not be sufficient. foo.php as well) which are then grepped for string.Recursive search is a process by which you search for a specific string in a directory and all its subdirectories. php files in the current directory ( ** matches 0 or more directories, so **/*php matches. To find the zip files that contain a mylostfile file, specify it as a -g glob pattern like so. Recursive grep on Unix without GNU grep If you do not have GNU grep on your Unix system, you can still grep recursively, by combining the find command with grep: find. Some have suggested to use ugrep to search zip files and tarballs. But older releases of Unix do not have GNU grep and do not have any option to grep recursively. If you have a version of grep that lacks the -include option, you can use the following. This is all very easy because Linux includes GNU grep. ![]()

Carla tsukinami in formal wear10/26/2023 ![]() Wearing a soft smile, Carla murmurs that bringing up their first dance together makes him feel nostalgic. Though, she never could have guessed that an opportunity to show off the results from her practicing would come so soon. With a light-hearted laugh, she thanks him for the compliment as Yui admits that she’s been practicing in secret ever since they danced together at the castle. She turns towards Carla and happily thanks him for being her escort, as Carla admits that her dancing seems to have improved a lot. Once the party begins to draw to a close, the two of them leave the dance hall and head into a separate hallway, with a now-confident Yui reflecting on what a fun party it turned out to be. Yui and Carla spend the rest of the party together on the dance floor. It’s something completely different from what she felt when she and Carla danced together, alone, at the Founder’s castle.Ĭarla is still wearing a confident grin as he leans in to ask if they should keep showing off their dancing, and this time there’s not an ounce of hesitation from Yui as she eagerly agrees. Bewildered, Yui takes a quick glance around the room and realizes that Carla is rightー some of the other students are staring at them! Though she’s still feeling a little shy, Yui also can’t help but feel a sense of accomplishment. Carla praises her as well, noting how well she did, before pointing out that they seem to have garnered some attention from the students around them. Once their dance is over, Yui is breathing a little heavy as she finds herself delighted by how little mistakes she managed to make. Naturally, Yui has no objections and allows herself to be taken into the crowd by Carla, where the two begin their dance. His words seem to do the trick, and Yui immediately perks up with a smile.Ĭarla smoothly tells her to entrust herself to him and asks if she’ll allow him to escort her to the dance floor. Although Yui is still clearly hesitant to dance, Carla takes her hands and whispers to her to be confident, especially when in front of him. ![]() He then asks her to dance with him before reassuring her that he would never dance with a woman he has no interest in. Yui’s head snaps back up as she adamantly argues that she doesn’t want that, and Carla’s lips curl into a self-assured smile. Carla, perplexed, decides to ask if she’d prefer him to dance with another woman. She worries that her awkwardness might stand out against the people around them and, with her head hanging low, she mutters that she thinks she isn’t a fitting match for him. She voices this fear of hers, which both surprises and confuses Carla, as she explains that she isn’t very good at dancing. Smiling gently, he encourages Yui to straighten her back and stand taller, reminding her that there is no reason for her to be so nervous when he is her partner.īut Yui, of course, is more concerned over whether she is good enough to dance with him. She wonders to herself if she can really be considered an adequate dance partner for someone like Carla, and again Carla takes notice of her unease. Now having gone over the reason for her discomfort, Yui again looks out towards the crowd of people laughing and dancing, and she sighs to herself. Yui, being Carla’s girlfriend, was brought along to be his dance partner. While quietly thinking to herself, Yui reveals that they are in England as a school in association with her own decided to hold a ball, and Carla was chosen by her school to go as their representative. Though she still sounds unsure, Yui reluctantly murmurs that he’s right as she scans the crowd one more time. Yui tells him that she’s feeling a little nervous on account of all the people around her, but Carla replies with a smile that it’s normal for so many people to gather at a party like this. Noticing that Yui isn’t as talkative as she usually is, Carla, who is standing beside her, leans down to ask her what’s the matter. A little dejected, Yui can’t help but think about how different she is, and she seems embarrassed as she decides that she most certainly stands out. ![]() Almost as if everyone else seems to blend in to the environment. Though, for some strange reason, she can’t quite shake the feeling that the other students look nicer than her somehow. It seems as if all the others in attendance are high school students, as Yui is wearing her school uniform, and she notes not that all of the other attendees are wearing uniforms as well. Inside of a spacious dance hall that’s nearly filled to the brim with people, Yui stands off to the side and observes the scene before with a quiet sense of awe. I dedicate this post to my favorite sister, Dorothy! I hope you enjoy more content from our precious ご主人様! Short, sweet and to the point!
